N. EST 2.0 The making of the city / town Design your own - The second draft of the Project Room MOTHER


As of January 13, 2007 Mother the hosts in the Project Room No. EST with N. EST 2.0 The making of the city \u200b\u200b- Design your own city , the second project by Gigiotto Del Vecchio and Stefania Palumbo , that aims to document the urban transformation through art, creativity and new media.

The project has the objective of recording the transformations and drafting proposals for urban regeneration through the eyes and the reflection of artists architects and artists of every nationality , called on to devise site-specific works and projects through a map of the places to which they relate or from which they draw.

At N. EST 2.0 - Design your own city , understood as a real collective performance and design, the spaces in the Project Room will be equipped like a real studio and half will be of workshops and weekly meetings . N. EST 2.0 is divided into three parts, all equally important and aim to become intimate with the land the subject of the artwork and design dimension that animates him in real life: Work / designs, Walk / part, Talk / documents.

The project room, the heart of Work, and its outdoor spaces are configured as a studio / workshop and display content always on and always different. Project members will use day by day for the organization and conduct of the activities planned during the opening hours of the museum, including three weekly workshops are open to public participation on presentation and reservation of a draft (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 14/20, callx@napoliest.it ).

Walk is a series of five guided tours is organized and conducted by artists in the area between N. EST Gianturco, Barra, San Giovanni, Ponticelli. With a route selected and annotated by the artists, introduced in Italian and English, Walk wants to create, along with the audience, a mythology of the eastern area.

Talk , 6 conference Sunday of deepening, with important international guests who will travel to Naples to study its east, in order to return one or more design concepts and share with the public the activities in European cities to which they belong. On January 20 a leading independent Italian curator of public art, Bartholomew Pietromarchi , compared with Tobias Zielony , German artist and photographer, on the border places and urban aesthetics in relation to the portrait. On 27 January, the international collective Inward , animated by the Association bell Arteteca , will take care of urban cultures in East Naples (and will hold a special workshop, Writing N. EST within the project room a few days earlier). On February 3 two architects and contractors, Federico de Giuli (Turin) and Mariano Pichler (Milan), compared with East Naples from clustering, location-cultural project of De Giuli (one of the founders of Cliostraat), and Ventura Street to the east or the new Milan to Chelsea O ves t (under construction in Via Farini). On February 10 the German curator Mjriam Strupperk and media Berlin architect Realities United import the practice of urban screens and media facades. On February 17 , two of the most important magazines worldwide architecture, art and interior - the Italian and Dutch Domus Volume - face and get to know , for the first time, an editorial meeting shared : Napoli star, the directors present ( Flavio Albanian and Lilet Breddels ), the Dutch publisher and editors Archis Christian Ernsten and Massimiliano Marchica . The last talk hosts Coloco , members of the collective French landscape Exyzt , the star of an unusual exhibition at the French pavilion at the last Biennale of Architecture (Venice): will focus on using creative urban voids.

No EST - In its four years of operation, no EST participated in exhibitions and international events, such as the Venice Biennale (Contemporary Directions, 2004, Raid Vesuvius Group exhibition, curated Del Vecchio) (Florence, 2005). He participated in the Festival (Florence 2007), supported by Tuscany Region, where he performed a preview of the new section, N. extubation. He participated the Annals of Architecture, in " 20.07 in Forum Versus" on display at Palazzo Reale in Naples.

Among the awards, Palimpsest Italy (Bologna, 2005), and consequently a guest at COM.PA 2006 (Rome) with a booth (National Exhibition dedicated to the communication of Public Administration). No EST was also a finalist in the eighth edition of the Festival International Videopolis with the documentary " 24 to East Naples.

No EST has participated in various industry conferences (Media and Urban Space, Universitaat Bauhaus, Weimar, Germany, November, 2006, University of Architecture in Naples, the National Day of the National Institute of Urbanisitica 2005 and 2006) or live media event (like the last Dancing with Domus, invited by the prestigious magazine Domus at the launch of the new editorial line in May 2007). Articles have been published on Cluster, Il Sole 24 Ore / Nova, Raitv and Radio.

Starting January 13, 2007 MOTHER is hosting the N. EST with N. EST 2.0 The making of the city - Design your own city in the ITS Project Room. This is a project Whose Objective is to document urban transformations through art, creativity and the new media, curated by Gigiotto Del Vecchio and Stefania Palumbo .

From January 13 to February 25, 2008, the space located in the museum’s inner courtyard will be occupied for seven weeks by N.EST, a work in the form of an online database edited and directed by Danilo Capasso and Giovanni Ferrarelli with Massimiliano Rianna and Diana Marrone , which takes its name from the Eastern Zone of Naples which it has been actively dealing with since 2004. The project has the objective of recording the transformations and drafting proposals for urban regeneration through the eyes and observations of artists, architects and creati ves of all nationalities , called on to devise works and site specific projects through a map of the places which they refer to or from which they derive inspiration.

Freely accessible online at the address www.napoliest.it , N.EST del ves into the recesses of the representation of a real territory, the eastern periphery of Naples , with the aim of rendering it a project scheme shared with other artists, architects, urban planners, citizens and stakeholder.

On the occasion of N.EST 2.0 – Design Your City , understood as a true collective and projectual performance , the spaces of the Project Room will be equipped as a true studio/workshop, always active for the presentation of contents.

The members of the project will use it day by day for the organization and performance of the planned activities during the museum’s opening hours. It is a simple and convivial space, where project and its objecti ves can be related to the public of observers and active participants, who will be able to stop and compare their ideas with those of the artists or to be in their turn the source of ideas for them.

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 2.00pm to 8.00pm starting from the first week and for the whole duration of the exhibition, within the Project Room, together with the artists who are the authors of N.EST, a chosen public of 8 people will be able to participate in the workshops www.napoliest.it presented in its new version together with N.EST TV on the occasion of the exhibition at the MADRE. on the production of works and site specific projects which will be published on the database and visible both inside the museum and outside it on the website

To participate in the workshops it will be necessary to reply to the public call for entries, using the application form published on www.napoliest.it , which should be forwarded to callx@napoliest.it .

Those who do not wish to take part in the workshops but desire to insert their works and projects, may forward them in read-only format during the exhibition. The continuous assembly and editing of materials for the database will be curated directly by the N.EST artists.
The works of artists and architects will be extended to the territory which is the object of the work, namely Gianturco, Barra, Ponticelli and San Giovanni a Peduccio , through guided tours CitySightSeeing buses every Saturday starting from January 19, leaving at 12.00am from the MADRE. In addition, starting from 20 January , every Sunday during the duration of the project, lectures and meetings to explore the relevant topics will be organized with internationally known guest speakers, from the French Exyzt Collective to the architectural reviews Volume Magazine and Domus , the entrepreneurs and collectors Mariano Pichler and Federico De Giuli (responsible for the regeneration of Eastern Milan and Turin), and the INWARD observatory, to mention only a few. They will all visit Naples to study its EASTERN SECTOR, and will present one or more project visions of it and will share with the public the activities carried out in the cities they represent. The talks will be Held in the church of Donnaregina From The 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

No EST - In Its four years of activity, no EST has taken part in exhibitions and events of International Importance, Such as the Venice Biennale ( contemporary sense, 2004, the collective exhibition Raid Vesuviana, curated by Gigiotto Del Vecchio), Factory Europe (Florence, 2005). It participated in the Festival of Creativity (Florence 2007), supported by the Tuscan Regional Authority, where, it premiered the new N. Estubo section. It participated in the Annali dell'Architettura, in the section " 20.07 in Forum Versus" on display at the Royal Palace in Naples .
